А, точнее, в пятницу 25 июня был на передаче BBC Breakfast и говорил о детских книгах и о том, почему он написал эпизод для Dr. Who.
Один маленький уже зелёненький юзер сидел тут и сделал скрипт интервью. =)) Я.

Neil: I loved books, I loved libraries, I loved stories.
And I don't think that at age of seven I was yet dreaming to become a writer
but I'd certanly couldn't think of anything else what I'd wanted to do.
- And what do you think whan you talk about your own children, and, em,
being obsessed with book
but do you think children ARE able to be as booky now as we were when we were booky?
Neil: Actually I think we're entering the new Golden Age! Emm...
- Becouse I'm interested becouse you said

becouse children can watch TV, practically 24 hours a day, watch DVDs,
they can play on their individual games machines and they have less opportunity.
Neil: But for the last decade more and more children have been readig books!
Children's publishing has become a wonderful growth erea.
I think some of the BEST children's books EVER have been written today
and also
more and more kids are borrowing books in libraries. The library statistics in children's reading is just going up and up and up.
So I think we're in a really good place.
I suspect part of it, actually, is the whole mobile phones, culture text
and kids are becoming much more comfortable with words. They're watching television less.

Neil: I met them outside, they're wonderful.
Huge Doctor Who fans too,
I kept them about to say to me, 'I've written an episode fo Dr. Who', and...
- Are you?
- Oh, are you?
Neil: Yes, I am. [smiles trickey]
- And what, whan, what, where? [skocked] How?
Neil: I'm not allowed to say anything about it
It will probably be the episode 3 of the next season, next year.
And we'll be shooting it this summer.
